Black tea from ThailandDescription
This Hong Cha tea is rare because it comes from the Royal Project Foundation's experimental station in Thailand. It comes from the Golden Triangle in northern Thailand. It has a woody nose and a red liquor with prune aromas. The leaves are long, irregular and twisted. Grown according to organic farming principles (but not certified).
The Royal Project Foundation was set up in 1970 to eradicate opium cultivation and provide socio-economic integration for the tribes exiled from Laos, Burma and China who settled in the mountains of northern Thailand.
This project has changed the lives of thousands of people. Each farmer has been given a piece of land to cultivate and support himself.
