Committed to today & tomorrow
It's often when we look back that we realize just how far we've come. Since its creation in 2007, L'Autre Thé has been a pioneering organic tea house in France, proud of its commitments.
In fact, do you know why we chose this name for our company? Because right from the start, respect for others ("l'autre" in French), in the broadest sense of the word, respect for all living things, has been our primary concern. And also because we cultivate a certain singularity. When you choose our teas (and infusions), you're marking your independence from the big groups and supporting a project that's human in scale, incarnate and authentic:
It means choosing not “just a tea”, but the “other” tea, the one that makes all the difference!
This page summarizes our commitments and values, based on our 6 areas of work. Feel free to download our full report at the bottom of the page for more details!
.

Whether within our in-house team, with our suppliers or partners, or with our customers, we build relationships based on transparency, reciprocity and respect.
KEY POINTS:
- Ethical and fair sourcing
- Participative management
- Support for local development projects in producer countries
- Quality, traceability and high standards.
In today's world, transparency often stops when it comes to money. Not with us: we support sensible consumption and local investment above all else.
KEY POINTS:
- We don't push consumption
- No financial speculation. We also chose an ethical bank
- Local suppliers and made-in-France packaging.

Right from the start of the L'Autre Thé adventure, protecting nature has been an integral part of our identity.
KEY POINTS:
- Organic pioneers, support for the industry and for players in conversion
- 85.5% of our teas and infusions were certified organic in 2023 (and we're still making progress!).
- Ongoing work to certify even more products.
We work on the sustainability and impact of our products at every stage of their life cycle (from production to recycling).
KEY POINTS:
- Promoting zero waste among our private and business customers
- Sorting and reusing packaging
- We don't throw away or destroy unsold products (donations, reduced prices, etc.)
- Recyclable or biodegradable packaging

The attention we pay to others is also reflected in the words we use and the desire to make our stores lively places of exchange, to pass on and create links.
KEY POINTS:
- Tasting workshops to share best practices
- Passionate sales teams, with no numerical targets, to focus on advice
- Retailers committed to community life
And what about tomorrow? We can still do better and are already working on ambitious new projects.
KEY POINTS:
- Tea produced in France from our Breton tea garden (by 2026)
- Project to create a flavouring factory in France (by 2030)
- Under study: 1% for the planet, "Société à mission", being part of Zero Waste France listing
- 100% renewable energy for all our sites
