Gourd and stainless steel maté calabash

Description

This traditional calabash is made from a hollowed-out gourd, with the upper part encircled in stainless steel. Appearance and size vary, as this is a natural product (photo is indicative, colors may differ according to availability). Before using for the first time, the gourd should be “culled” by infusing maté for 24 hours to impregnate it with the flavours of maté and preserve it over the long term. Over time, the skin of the calabash will gradually discolor: this is a normal, natural process.

Caution: take care not to fill the calabash to the brim, as the metal ring is not watertight.

Care: empty the maté after use and rinse with clean water. Leave to air-dry with the opening facing upwards. Not dishwasher-safe.
