Taiwanese oolong tea with fresh, mineral, floral and buttery notes - Taïwan - En stock
Grand cru
Origin: Taiwan - Taipei - Wenshan
Altitude: 500m.
Terroir: It comes from the Wenshan, a low-lying mountain range in northern Taiwan.
Cultivar: Jin Xuan
Production method: Light oxidation (0-20%), light roasting. Twisted leaves. A beautifully crafted tea that elevates this low-altitude tea to the status of a high-mountain tea.
History: Discovered during Arnaud Dhenin's last trip to Taiwan, this emblematic tea from the island of Formosa has long, twisted, slightly oxidized leaves. It is then subtly roasted. Its name means “crumpled in paper”, and derives from the custom of sending tea tribute to the emperor during the Qing dynasty, packed in 200-gram bundles between two square sheets of bamboo paper, on which was affixed the seal of the establishment with the name of the tea. This packaging method was originally used in Fujian province, in the Anxi district opposite Taiwan.
Aromatic profile: A fresh, gourmet tea that evokes a river in a forest. It is vegetal, mineral and fresh, yet buttery and flowery, with a lovely thick, oily texture. A real walk in nature.
- Texture: thick, round
- Notes: dry planty, fresh planty, jasmine floral, buttery, mineral
