This exceptional Grand Cru is largely composed of golden buds, indicating a high-quality hand-picked harvest. It is a Chinese black tea typical of bud teas.
On the nose, the dry leaves reveal a woody, cocoa-like profile, dry vegetal notes, and malty accents. Once infused, the leaves exude fruity, stewed, and caramelized notes that promise great aromatic richness.
On the palate, this Grand Cru delivers on its promises: very indulgent, caramelized and cocoa-like, reminiscent of dark chocolate truffles, its roasting has softened the tannins. It has virtually no astringency, and its texture is very smooth and pleasant. The finish reveals the sweet notes reminiscent of whiskey promised by the bouquet of the dry leaves. The overall sensation when tasting is pleasantly stimulating and energizing.
This is the tea for you if you like full-bodied Chinese black teas, halfway between a Grand Keemun and a Jin Jun Mei.
Préparation
In a gaiwan: 4g, 1'30'' at 90°C. Re-infuse.
